Tewdy Pools

From waitlist signup to active beta tester

Most waitlist tools stop at the signup form. Tewdy Pools screens, profiles, and converts signups into testers you can actually work with.

Waitlists collect emails. Then what?

You launch a landing page, collect a few hundred signups, and end up with a spreadsheet of email addresses. When it comes time to onboard testers, the real work starts: who has the right device? Who actually wants to test, versus who signed up out of curiosity? Which batch should go first?

Most waitlist tools were built to collect interest, not to act on it. The gap between "someone signed up" and "someone is testing your app" is filled with manual emails, Google Forms, and guesswork.

A waitlist that does more

Tewdy Pools treats your waitlist as the first step of a structured pipeline. When someone signs up, they complete a screening questionnaire and a device profile. You see exactly who is on your list and what they bring. When you are ready, invite a filtered batch, assign onboarding tasks, and track who follows through.

No CSV exports. No manual sorting. The waitlist feeds directly into your testing workflow.

What you get

  • Questionnaire screening at signupAttach a questionnaire to your waitlist form. Filter signups by role, experience, motivation, or anything else before they ever reach your pool.
  • Device and OS profilingCollect device type, operating system, and app version data during signup. When you need iOS 17 testers or Android tablet users, you already know who to invite.
  • Batch invitationsInvite waitlist members in controlled batches. Set batch size, filter by profile criteria, and stagger rollout to match your capacity.
  • Reputation scoring from first interactionReputation tracking starts the moment someone joins your waitlist. Questionnaire completion, responsiveness, and follow-through all contribute to their score.
  • Milestone tasks for onboardingAssign onboarding tasks to newly invited members — install the app, complete a walkthrough, submit a first bug report. Track completion automatically.
  • Pool chatEvery waitlist pool includes a built-in group chat. Communicate with your waitlist directly without managing a separate Slack or Discord channel.

Built for pre-launch and beyond

A waitlist pool is not a throwaway. Start collecting signups during pre-launch, then convert the same pool into your permanent beta testing group as you ship. Members keep their profiles, reputation scores, and task history. The pool grows with your product.

There is no separate "waitlist phase" and "beta phase." It is one continuous pipeline from first signup to long-term tester.

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from a Mailchimp waitlist?

Mailchimp collects emails. Tewdy Pools collects structured profiles — devices, languages, questionnaire responses — and gives you tools to screen, batch-invite, and onboard signups into active testers. The waitlist is the beginning of the workflow, not the end of it.

Can I import an existing waitlist?

Yes. You can import a CSV of email addresses. Imported members receive an invitation to complete their profile and any screening questionnaire you have configured.

What happens after someone is invited from the waitlist?

They become an active pool member. You can assign onboarding milestone tasks, add them to pool chat, and include them in future task rounds. Their waitlist history and reputation carry forward.

Can I convert the waitlist into a permanent beta pool?

That is the intended workflow. Start with a waitlist pool during pre-launch. As you invite members and they complete onboarding, the pool transitions naturally into your ongoing beta testing pool. No migration needed.

Is there a cost per waitlist signup?

No. There are no per-signup or per-invitation fees. Pricing is based on your plan tier, not the number of people on your waitlist.

Can I run multiple waitlists for different products?

Yes. Each product or project can have its own waitlist pool with its own screening questionnaire and invitation criteria. Members who join multiple pools carry a single profile and reputation across all of them.
