Frequently asked questions

What is a pool?

A pool is a managed group of participants — testers, researchers, reviewers, or contributors — that you build and maintain. Once you have a pool, you can publish tasks to it repeatedly without re-recruiting every time.

How does reputation scoring work?

Every participant builds a reputation score based on their track record: completing milestones on time, quality of proof submissions, and pool owner ratings. Higher scores mean more reliable participants.

How are payments handled?

Budgets are set per task and per participant. Payments can be released on milestone completion or at the end of the task. Escrow ensures participants get paid for completed work.

Can I create my own pool?

Yes. Anyone with a Tewdy account can create a pool, set up questionnaires, and start inviting participants. Tewdy also maintains curated pools for common use cases like beta testing.

Do participants need a Tewdy account?

Yes. Participants create a free Tewdy account and build a participant profile with their devices, languages, expertise, and availability. This profile carries across all pools they join.
